On March 14th, the Fashion Department at Villanueva organizes the 2nd edition of History of Fashion Photography. Professor Ana Llorente is specialist in history of dress, fashion and visual culture, developing her career at institutions such as UAM and Royal College of Art in London. One of her most recent research, “Fashion magazines as an ethno-iconographic document”, is based on a critical analysis of the use of ethnography in Vogue’s editorials (1949-2016)”.
As Llorente mentions, “during the Seminar, we will look through the lens of the most influential fashion photographers of the 20th and 21st century. We will discover, analyze and discuss key issues of fashion image-making in order to understand the messages that emerge in this fertile visual form which role transcends the limits of the industry”.
The Seminar is open to students of Villanueva and also other universities.
